CrossFit has many many beneficial attributes to it. But do they outweigh the negatives of the sport? “In just 15 years, the king of CrossFit has created the largest gym chain in history,” 60 Minutes’ Sharyn Alfonsi says. It is safe to say that crossfit is a huge organization. This shows that CrossFit is not just a small trend. It is something that most people who want to get in shape like. And that is what it does, CrossFit gets you in shape. It makes you push yourself with the help of a coach looking over everyone in the class. Crossfit is a sport that makes you compete against others, giving you something to go against instead of just yourself.

  • 99% of people that participate in crossfit are doing it to be fit not for a certain sport.

  • Big workout in a short amount of time.

  • Most importantly, gets you in shape and fit.

  • Promotes eating healthy by going on the Paleo Diet.

  • Lots of injuries, shoulder injuries are most common. 73 % of people who participate report having injuries

  • No science behind it. Nothing has been proved why is it better than true form lifting that has years of science behind it. Crossfit challenges those techniques and pushes faster movements and more repetitions per minute than going slow and getting the form correct. When you try to go fast without proper forum you are very vulnerable to a injury. 

  • Coaches are bad, they are trained in one weekend opposed to a physical trainer that has done years of research
